About Us
Devonshire Junior Academy is a larger than average junior school which is part of the Victoria Academies Trust. Our school caters for boys and girls from the age of 7 to 11 and we have approximately 360 children on roll.
We have the privilege of being set in the middle of an extensive green field site. This gives our pupils the opportunity to experience a variety of different learning environments and gives our school a spacious, calm atmosphere.
Our outdoor facilities include two playgrounds, a large sports field, a garden and woodland area. Inside we have large classrooms and facilities which include a purpose built gym, well-resourced library, a permanent stage, computing suite and community room.
At Devonshire, class teachers are responsible for the children’s welfare and delivery of the curriculum. Work is planned jointly by year group teachers in close liaison with our teaching assistant team. Having a large staff enables us to draw on a wide range of knowledge and expertise from within our school and from our multi-academy trust. In addition, we use the services of Sandwell Music and Arts to provide expert music tuition for all our pupils and Sports Plus who deliver excellent sports coaching and after school clubs.
At Devonshire Junior Academy we recognise the value of strong parent-teacher relationships and therefore teachers are available at the end of each school day to answer any queries. Alternatively, parents can call the office to book an appointment at a mutually convenient time.

At Devonshire Junior Academy we believe in educating the whole child.
