Attendance and Punctuality

Pupils need to attend school regularly to benefit from their education and reach their potential. Missing out on lessons leaves children vulnerable to falling behind and children with poor attendance tend to achieve less.

At Devonshire we therefore promote good attendance and punctuality whenever we can; we employ the services of an Education Welfare Officer who monitors attendance and supports improvements.

During the year 2018-19 we achieved an attendance rate of 96.3% which was slightly above our target of 96%.

We would like to thank our parents for their continued support in this area, however, there is still more to do and we would encourage everyone to ensure their child attends school punctually, unless of course there are permitted circumstances for an absence.

May we remind you that it is against the law to take your children on holiday during term time, you can be fined and lose your school place, so please ensure visits and trips are taken in school holiday times.
